address at the conference to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the
Beijing World Conference on Women today. The occasion will prove a
poignant moment for President Kumaratunga whose mother, Sirimavo
Bandaranaike addressed the first World Conference on Women 30 years ago
in Mexico as Prime Minister.

Story SLFP to present comprehensive manifesto
THE Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), which is fielding Prime Minister
Mahinda Rajapakse as its Presidential candidate, will offer a
comprehensive manifesto to the masses, a Government spokesman said. The
manifesto is expected to cover the entire range of issues affecting the
