P-TOMS before House today


THE Government will present the Post-Tsunami Operations Management Structure (P-TOMS) document before Parliament today sans any signature. Leader of the House Maithripala Sirisena told the House yesterday the reason for it being presented to Parliament before being signed is to enable members to express their views on the subject. He strongly refuted claims that the P-TOMS document had already been signed.

President assures P-TOMS will address Muslim concerns


PRESIDENT Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga met with Minister Ferial Ashraff and a delegation of her party on Tuesday as part of a series of ongoing consultations on the proposed Tsunami Relief Council (P-TOMS). Minister Ashraff re-iterated a number of issues concerning the Muslim community with regard to the ethnic conflict, tsunami recovery and reconstruction.
