Army instructor allegedly forced soldiers to eat explosives

An Army instructor of Kokeliya camp, Vavuniya is alleged to have forced 17 soliders to eat plastic explosives during a training session held in the camp.

Plastic explosives identified as C-4 were given to soldiers to identify using its unique odour and later had allegedly forced them to eat, an army official revealed.

The soldiers in critical condition were admitted to Vavuniya hospital on Saturday and was later transferred to Anuradhapura Hospital.

Meanwhile the alleged instructor has gone missing following the incident. The Army yesterday launched a special investigation on the incident and to find the missing instructor who is still at large.
