RICHARD DURAND CHERRINGTON (DICKY) SMITH. Beloved husband of Juanita (Nita), precious father of Tamarise (Tammy), devoted father-in-law of Flt. Sgt Bandula (Bandu) Hathurusinghe, (S.L.A.F. Hingurakgoda), darling grandpapa of Keith and Kenneth, passed away on 2nd February 2005. Funeral was held privately according to his wishes. Agricola, Power House Road, Hingurakgoda.

Beloved husband of Mallika, father of Serini and Dr. Dulani Beneragama, father-in-law of Dr Thushan Beneragama, darling grandfather of Dulanji and Kushani, brother of late Piyasinghe, late Devala, late Vijaya, Hema and Nanda, expired. Cortege leaves residence Wednesday 16th February 4.00 p.m. for Cremation at General Cemetery, Mount Lavinia at 5.00 p.m. 91/6, Waidya Road, Dehiwala. 

RAJARATNAM - THEAIVANAYAKI   Beloved wife of late R. Rajaratnam (Kilinochchi), mother of Rasamany (Hindu Ladies College, Wellawatte), Ramani (UK - former Staff Hindu Ladies College, Wellawatte) and Jeyamani (Management Accountant - Vision Apparels), mother-in-law of Sadagoban (Asst. Superintendent of Customs), Sivaharan (UK), Gnanakaran (Cargills Ceylon Limited), daughter of late Sithambaranathan and Kanakamma (Sandilipay), daughter-in-law of late Ratnasabapathy and Gunamani (Kilinochchi), sister of late Parameswary, Thisaveerasingam (Rtd. Teacher Jaffna Hindu College) and Nageswary and precious grandmother of Arthi and Adshaya, passed away peacefuly on Sunday 13th February 2005. Remains lie at Mahinda Florist, Mt Lavinia from 9 a.m. on Tuesday 15th February 2005 to Wednesday 16th February 2005. Funeral rites will be held at 3.00 p.m. on 16th and Cortege will leave at 4.00 p.m. for Cremation at Mount Lavinia General Cemetery at 5.00 p.m. 65A, Hena Road, Mount Lavinia. Beloved husband of Ranie Sinnappahpillai, everloving father of Dr Ranjith Singh (UK), Dr Sharmala (California), Lalith Singh (Canada), Viji Singh (Attorney-at-law) father-in-law of Dr Malathy (UK), Dr Prem Alagakoen (California), Devadarshini (Canada) and Angeline, precious grandfather of Rebecca, Samuel, Paul, David, Hanna, Thanujan, Niranjan, Naomie and Thabithal, brother of late Separatnam late Arasaratnam and of Thilainathan, late Casinathan, late Kunaratnam, late Kingsly Velauthampillai, and of Ariyamalar Emerson and late Sriskandaraja, brother-in-law of Prince Rajendrasingham and Thivayarani Dharmasenan, Matharkarasi, Pakiyaratnam, Padmini, Ruby, late Navapalan Emerson and of Nagamma. Viewing on Tuesday 15th of February at A.F. Raymond's Funeral Parlour thereafter the Remains will be taken to Ranie Medical Centre, Thihariya, Kalagedihena at 8 p.m. on the same day. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 17th February at St John the Baptist Church, Yakkala Road, Gampaha at 4 p.m. and Burial thereafter at the Church Burial Ground.
