Samaraweera rescues Sri Lanka

FAISALABAD, Pakistan, Thilan Samaraweera compiled a fighting 97 not out but Sri Lanka failed to capitalize on some scrappy fielding by the Pakistanis as they struggled to reach 233 for 7 in their first innings on the opening day of the Paktel GSM Cup first test at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad here on Wednesday.
