by Asanga Warnakulasuriya A former Army Captain Mohammed Suresh Casim wanted by Police in connection with number of alleged robberies was found shot dead in his car alongside the Melfood Road, Dehiwela, Police said. According to Police the incident had taken place around 7.30pm on Tuesday night while he was returning home. It is said that the 41 year-old deceased was dismissed from the Army 10 years ago on disciplinary grounds. He had later worked for a internet service provider. Police suspect the killing to be the work of the underworld since . the victim is alleged to have had contacts with the underworld, Police said. He was also the main suspect in two robberies in Pettah and Wellawatte recently. The case was to be taken up for hearing today, Police said. |
