SLPA stops Rs.700 m wastage

The previous administration of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority was planning to spend Rs. 1300 million to install an inferior Terminal Management System, wasting nearly Rs. 700 million, SLPA Chairman Dileepa Wijesundare said yesterday.

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga said the aim of providing free education to all was not to create a generation who take to guns and bombs to solve problems but to use their brains and intelligence to redress their grievances.
