Govt can no longer ignore LTTE killing spree: President
President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in a hard hitting
statement said yesterday the Government can no longer ignore the inhuman
act of killing members of disarmed Tamil parties committed by the LTTE.
President wants more commitment for child issues

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga yesterday appealed to
leaders and officials of South Asian countries to work with more
commitment to solve issues relating to children in the region specially
child abuse, child trafficking and child labour.
ANCL scotches rumours
The Company Secretary of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd.
in a statement issued yesterday said "It has been observed that
certain sections are attempting to convey a wrong interpretation to an
event that originated from an internal administrative issue of the
Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited.
