Nepal capital breathes easy as rebels end blockade KATHMANDU, Wednesday (Reuters) Buses, cars and trucks rolled in and out of Kathmandu on Wednesday
after Maoist rebels lifted an unprecedented road blockade that had cut off
the hill-ringed capital from the rest of Nepal for a week. Kathmandu, a
city of 1.5 million people, had only a few weeks of fuel and food supplies
left after the blockade choked off supplies from the southern plains and
