The presentation of the Act of Appointment to the Most Ven. Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Maha Nayaka Thera, the Chief Incumbent of the Ridee Viharaya, as the 26th Maha Nayaka of the Malwatta Chapter of the Shyamopali Maha Nikaya, took place at the historical Magul Maduwa of Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy under the Auspices of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. In the picture President Kumaratunga paying homage to the Maha Nayaka Thera after presenting the “Sannasa” relating to the new appointment. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse and Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara are also in the picture.
