Sandamali leads Lanka
The Women's Cricket Association of Sri Lanka named the national squad to play the visiting Australian team come September.
The venue will be Moratuwa International Grounds and Kettarama International Grounds. They will play four one-dayers and one 3-day Test.
This is the first time Australia is visiting Sri Lanka and the series will be a run-up to the World Cup 2005 in South Africa where Sri Lanka and Australia have already qualified to compete.
Many new faces make the team while only three players from the last World Cup 2000 team are retained. The new captain, Sandamali Dolewatte was the Woman of the Series when Sri Lanka toured the West Indies last year. She represents Colombo Colts CC.
Both coach, Nihal Kodituwakku and President - WCASL, Gwen Herat felt the need to introduce new blood and Herat in particular was sad that some senior players had to be dropped because they opted to play indoor cricket which is banned by the WCASL.

Udawatte, Shashikala Siriwardena (vice captain), Tara Kaushalya, Shaleka Nilukshini, Swini de Alwis, Thilaka Gunaratne, Indika Kankanamage, Dona Indralatha, Sripalee, Thanuja Ekanayake. Stand-by: D.
