Upward momentum continues at Bourse

Trading at the Colombo Bourse continued its upward momentum yesterday with all indices recording gains. The All Share Price Index bounced to 1,444.63 points from 1,442.55 points and the Milanka Price Index increased to 2,176.04 points from 2,172.77.

Stock Brokers said that the market would go for more profit taking today too and the positive sentiment at the Bourse is still high.

The day's turnover was Rs 388,165,153. Blue Diamonds, SLT, JKH, East West and Colombo Land were heavily traded stocks.

Foreign and local buying also dominated the market yesterday particularly heavy buying on bluechip stocks. They said that the healthy level of turnover in the market has made trading more stable and active.
