Key national institutions under one umbrella Twelve enterprises which are vital to the national economy will be
brought under the proposed Strategic Enterprises Management Agency (SEMA)
to revitalise them without resorting to privatisation, the Government
announced yesterday. President commended for Constitutional Assembly proposal by Chamikara Weerasinghe New Left Front (NLF) Leader Dr. Wickremabahu Karunaratne yesterday
commended President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga for undertaking the
task of forming a Constitutional Assembly to amend the electoral system
with the intention of abolishing the Executive Presidency. Special committee to probe alleged fraud and corruption at MILCO by Uditha Kumarasinghe Agriculture and Livestock Minister Anura Kumara Dissanayake has
appointed a special committee to probe into the alleged large scale fraud
and corruption by MILCO Private Ltd which imported milk powder for the CWE
