Peace with honour President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in a televised address to
the Nation, Saturday night, giving a detailed account of the work done by
her Government since the April 2, General Election, cleared all doubts and
misapprehensions and reiterated the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA)
Government's firm commitment and determination to solve the problems
besetting the people and leading them on to peace and prosperity. Thera was brought to the Asgiriya police grounds from the official
residence of the Malwatte Nayaka Thera where the Mahanayaka's remains laid
in State for six days. Thirty eight Italy-bound illegal immigrants held in Weligama by Asanga Warnakulasuriya A group of 38 Sri Lankans were arrested by Weligama Police yesterday
