In this petition the petitioner, a candidate of the EPDP, Dr. Kasilingam Vigneswaran has cited TNA Parliament Group Leader R. Sambandan, Thurai Ratnasingham and 112 others as respondents. The petitioner states that the supporters of the EPDP were intimidated and a large number of voters were transported to polling centres by more than 50 vehicles on the polling date. The petitioner also claims that the LTTE had made an announcement that every Tamil should vote for ITAK. Therefore the petitioner prayed that the election of 1st and the 2nd respondents as MPs for the Trincomalee District be declared null and void. |
