NEW DELHI, Tuesday (AFP) India's ruling Hindu nationalist-led coalition
appeared in danger of falling short of a majority after the marathon
election crossed its halfway mark, television projections said. The
highest prediction for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies
said the coalition would secure 279 seats if current trends continue, just
