Rejected in unmistakable terms The country has just witnessed the end of another dark period in the history of Sri Lankan politics. I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate the voters who supported the United People's Freedom Alliance for their honesty, integrity and above all, their unparalled intelligence in their ability to grasp the true essence, weeding out the rubbish, from the various propaganda material floated out by different political groups, especially the treacherous United National Front. Yet for all, the party with the majority number of elected members has been compelled to seek the cooperation of the minority parties to form a stable government due to the abominable electoral system created by the craftiest and the most power hungry despicable traitor ever to emerge in the Sri Lankan political landscape. The people rejected in unmistakable terms the UNF's bogus peace process, the hippy culture, which was prominently projected by the electronic media by flashing the scenes of misguided young men and women with painted faces and tattood bodies aimed mainly at destroying our over 2,500 year old rich culture, unfathomable corruption, unpardonable treachery and nepotism. Bestiality was profoundly displayed in the millions in their support of the UNF by the extremely corrupt, especially in areas where there are conglomerates of large scale racketeers whose sole interests are personal gains as against the preservation of the sovereignty and national integrity of our country at large, aided and abetted by the racists and others who have historically exhibited the trait of treachery. This in short, indicates that our society in general is extremely corrupt mainly due to our selfishness and utter slavishness to money. Honesty, integrity and national consciousness are things of the past and thus have become alien to our society. During the past two years, it was amply revealed that the present UNF politicians are a set of opportunists without any conscience who are prepared to bequeath even the sovereignty of our country if they could continue in power even in a part of the country. In which other country in the world that the Defence Minister was asking the President of the country to look the other way when the weapons were being smuggled into the country by a terrorist outfit. Eleven shiploads of weapons were being taken delivery of by the LTTE during the UNF regime according to the astounding revelations made by no other person than the LTTE renegade Karuna Amman. The very reason why Ranil Wickremesinghe persistently insisted on having the Defence portfolio was in order to assist the LTTE in its arms build up while weakening our own Armed Forces. These are the fruits of intensive labour by the traitors of the last regime who dedicated themselves to the cause of Eelam. The operation Agni Kheela launched by the Armed Forces during the time of the People's Alliance Government was repeatedly condemned by Ranil Wickremesinghe even during the run up to the polls as it was the most effective operation of the Armed Forces which completely neutralized the LTTE striking power. The LTTE was so devastated by that operation, that Thamil Selvam requested the UNF Government to ensure that a similar operation would not be launched in the future. This incident reveals the true face of the traitor. It is very pathetic to note that about 37.83 per cent of the voting population of Sri Lanka has endorsed as acceptable, the unbridled corruption, boundless treachery, massive tax frauds engineered by the super rich with the connivance of the UNF hierarchy, abdication of sovereignty, money launchering, racketeering, drug trafficking, betrayal of our own Amred Forces and State sponsored thuggery etc. which were unheard of before the ascension of crooks in politics. Can anybody name any other country in the world where such a percentage of the citizens harbour similar traits? CHANDRA DE SILVA, With regard to Holy Prophet's Sacred Birthday we as believers welcome the Holy Day. The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam who was sent as the mercy of the universe by the Almighty Allah, is the supreme and prefect one. Celebrating His Sacred Birthday is the prime duty of the believers. There are several distorters in our community trying to degrade the dignity of Him. They oppose to celebrate His Sacred birthday and praise Him. Due to lack of knowledge, they brand Him as an ordinary person like us. We can praise Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and celebrate His Sacred Birthday in the light of Holy Qur'an and Hadhees. The Almighty Allah praised Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam in the Holy Qur'an as follows: "And recall when Allah got promise from all the Prophets that the Book and the wisdom I bestow to you but then comes to you the Rasool (Messenger Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) who confirms what (the Book) you possess. You should definitely believe in Him and definitely should help Him. Then (Allah) said, "do you agree and take this as firm agreement as binding on you?" They said, "we agree". He (Allah) said, "then be witnesses and I am also with you among the witnesses." (3:81), It is clear that the Almighty Allah is the one who praised the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam at first, according to the so-called Divine Verse. "(Beloved Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) surely, I (Allah) have given you in abundance." (108:1) "Have We (Allah) not expanded your bosom for you?" (94:1) Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam praised Himself in the authentic Hadheeses. Here are some of those: "I was Prophet when Adam Alaihis Salam was between clay and water." (Authority:Bukhari) "The Almighty Allah gives the blessings in My hand; I distribute those." (Authority:Bukhari). "I was created in the light of Allah; All were created in My light." (Authority:Dharami) The Companions praised the Holy Prophet Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam in the authentic Hadheeses as follows: "When exalting the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Anas ibnu Malik Raliyallahu Anhu says as follows: The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was neither very height nor very short. He was a red mixed white man. He had twenty grey hairs on His beard and head." (Authority:Bukhari-Part:4-Page:164) "When exalting Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Bara ibnu Asif Raliyallahu Anhu says as follows: I have never seen a handsome person like Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam in my life; His sacred face looks like moon". (Authority:Bukhari-Part:4-page:165). "Anas Raliyallahu Anhu says: When I touched the Holy Prophet's (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Sacred Hand, it remained softer than cotton." (Authority:Bukhari-Part:4-Page:166) A panegyric (praised song) was sung in the presence of Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam by Hazrath Abdullah ibnu Rawaha Raliyallahu Anhu. The meaning of that panegyric is as follows: "When dawn arises, the Messenger, who recites the Holy Qur' an is among us; He guided us in the correct path, who helped us to open our eyes, when we were blind men; Our strong belief is whatever he says it will happen." (Lesson:Babur Rijs-Bukhari) The Mowlidhs (The time or place of birth) which we recite remain similar to the above. Imaams known as our ancestors composed Mowlidh books to expose the love on the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and the other saints. Celebrating the Holy Prophet's (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Sacred birthday by conducting Mowlidh and other religious events, is not against the religion. It is a desirable act in our religion.
