India's marthon polls begin with Indian PM banking on economy

NEW DELHI, Monday (AFP) More than 670 million people are eligible to vote today as India begins its marathon election with Hindu nationalists hoping soaring economic growth will win them a new mandate from a deeply fragmented electorate.
