Great show by our soccerites by Dr. Elmo Rodrigopulle Football in the country never had it so good. To lose to the all
powerful Saudi Arabia by 1 goal to nil in a World Cup qualifying match
under lights at the Sugathadasa Stadium was a great achievement. The Saudi
Arabians arrived here with five of their previous World Cup players and
with the rest who would probably make up the team for the next World Cup
in Germany, confident that they could beat the Lankans and carry away a
