Spearheaded by President Kumaratunga : NCPA cracks down on child abuse, relieves young by a Correspondent When the PA Government took office and President Chandrika Bandaranaike
Kumaratunga decided to set up a Presidential Task Force on Prevention of
Child Abuse, a silver lining began to appear for the benefit of the
harassed and abused children in the country. Following the recommendations
made by the Task Force, the PA Government led by President Kumaratunga
took the initiative to set up the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA)
