China to firmly oppose Taiwan independence, seek peaceful reunification BEIJING, Friday (AFP) Premier Wen Jiabao warned Taiwan Friday at the opening of the annual
session of parliament that Beijing would firmly oppose any Taiwanese
independence drive and never allow a split from China. "We stand
firmly opposed to any form of separatist activities aimed at Taiwan
independence and will never allow anyone to split Taiwan from China by any
