UNF willing to share power with LTTE, but not with President elected by whole country

The Mano-Malik talks are the culmination of President Kumaratunga's unceasing efforts to get the UNF on board to take the peace process forward. Unfortunately, the PM is looking at matters from a narrow political perspective. Both Mano Tittawella and Malik Samarawickrema are known to be capable persons with tremendous potential in finding solutions. But what is going on behind the talks appears to be another kettle of fish.
