UNF trying to create anarchy by persuading LTTE to resume war Head of the LTTE Peace Secretariat Pulidevan has visited Colombo and met several Foreign diplomats during the last few days. Diplomatic sources in Colombo said he had held discussions with several Western Embassies including the American Embassy and the UK High Commission. Informed sources said that the main purpose behind these meetings Pulidevan had with diplomats was to find justification for any possible future declaration of war by the LTTE due to the political situation in the South. Political analysts have expressed suspicion as to whether these meetings had any connection with the meeting several Ministers had with LTTE leaders in the Wanni recently. Although these Ministers on their return from the Wanni announced the closure of the A9 highway the LTTE has denied it an said it's a total fabrication. Leader of the LTTE Political wing S. Thamil Selvam has twice announced that their organisation would not go back to war again and they were prepared to sort out their problems through discussion with any government in the South. But this LTTE announcement had become a big headache for Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. The strategy of the UNF is to create a fear psychosis among the people saying there will be war again if the President intervened or a change of government occurred. The desperate endeavour of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was to get the LTTE to break the ceasefire agreement and persuade it to resume the war, according to reports from the Wanni. People who desire some sort of agreement between the President and the Prime Minister say it is most disgusting to see the UNF Government planning an impeachment motion against the President on one hand trying to create anarchy in the country by getting the LTTE to break the ceasefire agreement. |
