SLFP-JVP political union to be sealed today

The eagerly awaited SLFP-JVP political union will be sealed today
ushering a new chapter in Sri Lanka's political history. The signing
ceremony at the BMICH is to be simultaneously accompanied by celebratory
events in different parts of the country and the provinces.

Sumathipala was yesterday remanded until January 30 by Colombo Additional
Magistrate Vikum A. Kaluarachchi after lengthy submissions by Defence
Counsel Kolitha Dharmawardena and Deputy Solicitor General Suhada Gamlath.
UNF trying to create anarchy by persuading LTTE to resume war
Head of the LTTE Peace Secretariat Pulidevan has visited Colombo and
met several Foreign diplomats during the last few days. Diplomatic sources
in Colombo said he had held discussions with several Western Embassies
including the American Embassy and the UK High Commission.
