Special exposition of Sacred Tooth Relic from April 17

The Mahanayaka Theras of the Asgiriya and Malwatte Chapters and the Diyawadana Nilame yesterday announced that a special exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic will be held from April 17 to May 1.

The exposition hours shall be from 1.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. The exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic takes place after three years. Depending on the number of devotees, the exposition could also take place at 11.30 a.m. after the Buddha Pooja.

Two committees at National and Pradeshiya level has been set up. The national Committee will be spearheaded by the Prime Minister while Pradeshiya Committee will be headed by the Secretary, Central Provincial Council.

Asgiriya Chapter Mahanayaka Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Thera said the exposition was being held to involve blessings on the people and the nation.
