Teams likely to make changes KURUNEGALA. Tuesday. Sri Lanka and the touring Pakistan under 19 teams are likely to make a couple of changes for their second three day match which begins at the Welagedera Stadium here tomorrow. The first three day match ended in a high scoring draw at the NCC grounds with the batsmen of both teams dominating the proceedings. However the two teams have delayed in naming their final eleven and are likely to include an additional bowler into their side. The Sri Lanka under 19 team had their final work out at the Welagedera Stadium this afternoon under the guidance of coach Ruwan Kalpage while the Pakistanis also had a practice session in the evening. The key player in the Sri Lankan line up will be skipper Farveez Maharoof who is in cracking form after scoring a sparkling century in the first three day match last week. The Pakistanis will be hoping to get Maharoof out early which will help them to apply the pressure on the Sri Lankan middle order. But in Kaushal Silva and Damindu Kularatne the Lankans possess two reliable batsmen who are capable of playing a long innings. Both completed half centuries in the first three day game and will be hoping for a repeat performance. The Pakistan under 19 team are quite pleased with their performances in their first outing with three of their top batsmen completing half centuries. Skipper Khalid Latif, Salman Quadir and Naeem Mohamed all have struck early form and will be hoping to continue in the same manner. (C.D). |
