Ultra Medics launches mini hospital for Corporate community By Shirajiv Sirimane For the first time Ultra Medics (Pvt) Ltd, has launched a mini hospital for the Corporate community at the West Block of the World Trade Centre. Acccording to Chairman Ultra Medics, Sarath de Silva, the company has already invested Rs. 4 million on this project. He said that it was launched to cater to the medical needs of the corporate community. "Businessmen are very busy and for them the time spent at a hospital for medical consultation is a loss of money in business. A special trip to the hospital means a loss of business for almost half a day." Silva said that Ultra Medics has identified this area and has launched tailor made-medical consultation products to cater to the needs of the business community. "We have arranged for consultations during lunch and soon after office hours. We guarantee that the businessmen would not have to spend any time waiting for a doctor." He said that appointments could be made on the phone and Ultra Medics takes the responsibility of guiding the client with minimum effort on his part." He said that the company is equipped with a Mobile laboratory and they are planning to extend their services to hotel guests and even transit passengers who make a prior appointment with them. He said that whenever a client visits them his entire medical record would be computerised and each time he visits Ultra Medics even after 10 years his records would be available with them. A former food consultant, Silva said that Sri Lanka is renowned for its medical practitioners whose services are now enjoyed by most of the developed countries. "We have signed contracts with Sri Lankan Cardiologists, Cardio Surgeons, experts in Transplant, leading fertility experts and leading neuro surgeons who are serving in USA and Europe to be a part of our team." Silva said that they did a market survey at the World Trade Centre and around Fort and found that there is a demand for a hospital of this nature. "Most of the people want to see a doctor but do not have the time to do so and they are very interested in a hospital of this nature." He said that Ultra Medics has a modern laboratory, pharmacy, experienced medical team and a staff who has worked in private hospitals. "We are even geared to handle any emergencies and will operate 24 hours," he said. |
