Diplomatic team to meet LTTE leaders today

A diplomatic delegation comprising Dutch, Swiss and German ambassadors will meet the LTTE leadership in the Wanni today to push back the currently stalled peace talks on track, diplomatic sources told the Daily News.

Sittings suspended after 'wreath protest'

Parliament sittings was suspended for half an hour yesterday amid scenes of pandemonium after a group of PA MPs led by Mahindananda Aluthgamage placed a wreath before the seat occupied by Interior Minister John Amaratunga in the front row of the Government benches when the latter rose to answer an oral question.
