Construction work on the Tissamaharama Urban Development Project has been almost completed at a cost of Rs.30 million. The project implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Plantation Infrastructure under its urban development and low income housing project would create more business and employment opportunities for youth in the area and boost the tourism industry. The project includes a market complex with 74 shopping spaces and parking facilities.

Nations Trust to increase Rs. 630 m capital base to meet Balance Sheet growth

The Nations Trust Bank will increase its capital base from Rs. 630 million in the second half of 2003 to meet the needs of its fast growing Balance Sheet and the bank's vision of remaining as a major player in the market.
