London speech distorted - Balasingham The LTTE's Chief Negotiator at the Peace Talks yesterday complained that some sections of the Sri Lankan press had "distorted" a speech he had made in London to mark the organisation's Heroes' Day, during the course of the press conference in Oslo. At that meeting, Balasingham said: "I clearly exemplified the concept of internal self-determination and also external self-determination and argued that our leadership is prepared to work out a formula within the concept of internal self-determination." "I am surprised that these reports claimed that Balasingham had said the LTTE favours two independent states. I can assure you that it was a total distortion of what I had enunciated at the London Martyrs Day Conference." |
