Nepal PM rejects cease-fire by Maoist rebels

KATHMANDU, Nepal, Friday (Reuters)

Nepal's communist rebels declared a one-month cease-fire but it was quickly rejected by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba who insisted they could not be trusted. "Once betrayed, we want to make sure the Maoists renounce violence and lay down their arms before the fresh talks begin," Deuba said at a special U.N. meeting on children in New York City.
