Present priority is to end the war by Percy Wickremesekere If this principle is accepted and sincerely acted upon then all our
people in whatever areas they live will be able to live as people with
self respect enjoying equal rights, managing their own affairs
irrespective of their race, creed or the area they live in. This may be
called self rule or self determination or anything else but it is our view
that it is the failure to accept this principle in due time that has led
to all the senseless destruction and bloodshed that may well have been
