Four arrested while photographing Awkana statue

Four persons taking photographs of the Awkana Buddha statue were
arrested by Galnewa Police on Monday.
They were taking photographs from a mobile phone camera despite a
warning notice, Police said. Located 30 kms northwest of Dambulla, it is
the tallest ancient Buddha statue in Sri Lanka belonging to the
Anuradhapura era. Kekirawa magistrate released the suspects on bail.
Galnewa Polce are investigating.
