Around 47 injured in wasp attack

Around 47 persons, including five monks, were hospitalised after being attacked by wasps in a pirivena in Madatugama yesterday. Police said 25 students including 17 girls were among the injured.

They were participating in a ceremony at Kotagala Pirivena, Madatugamaalong when they were attacked by the wasps. It was reported that there was a wasps' hive on a sal tree at the pirivena premises.
