Kelani Saviya fifth intake on Saturday

Kelani Saviya 5th intake will be held on May 19 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, with the participation of Prof SBS Abayakoon Vice Chancellor University of Peradeniya together with Dean Faculty of Engineering Prof. S.B. Weerakoon, Dr,A.Athpothraja Head Electrical and Electronic Engineering Dept; ,Prof .Manjula Fernando Course Director Kelani Saviya and Mahinda Saranapala CEO Kelani, Anil Munasinghe GM,(Marketing),Upul Mahanama GM(Operation) and Jayantha Wijesinghe, Co-initiator and Course Coordinator Kelani Saviya .

There are 80 students already registered at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, to follow the Domestic and Industrial Wiring Course for the year 2012 and 2013.The unique CSR project designed for the school leavers and self employed electricians accross the country since 2007 by Prof Janaka Ekanayake University of Peradeniya, was extended for further 5 years due to heavy demand.

The Kelani Saviya MoU was signed by VC,University of Peradeniya Prof.SBS Abayakoon and Hemantha Perera then MD Kelani Cables way back in 2007,now successfully continued by the CEO Kelani Cables Mahinda Saranapala adding more values to the MoU since 2011. As a part of the knowledge sharing exercise a batch of 50 final year Electrical Engineering Undergraduate students obtained their firsthand experience at Kelani Cables plc recently.
