Nearly 30,000 families to be registered

Under Janasevana Swashakthi programme:

The Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Ministry has taken measures to register 30,000 families living in under developed habitats in Colombo urban areas, with the objective of uplifting their living standards under the Janasevana Swashakthi Human Development Programme, Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa, said.

“Nearly 12,000 families have already been registered while 80 families have also been developed under the Janasevana Swashakthi Human Development Programme.

The ministry plans to develop 100 families this year under this programme,” the minister added. He said free advisory programmes, free health services, loan facilities for self employment and many more facilities would be provided for the under developed families.
