Amila Aponso, a student of St.Sebastians College has made superb performances in his school cricketing career, captaining his team while playing his fourth year in the school's under-19 squad.

This all-rounder has proven himself with quite reasonable performances in both bowling and batting in the last season as well as this season. He played for the Sri Lanka under-19 team and also had a chance of being a special player at the recently concluded limited overs series held in Visakapatnam, India.

During this season, he has scored nearly 600 runs with a highest individual score of 82 against St. Sylvester's College, Kandy. In bowling, he has claimed a matchbag of 10 wickets (10 for 54) against Nalanda College and matchbag of eight for 58 against De Mazenod, Kandana. Last season he missed several matches because of his commitments to the under 19 national team. But he score 320 runs in 12 matches with a best of 58 against St. Peter's College with a half-century (58).

He has been playing for the under-19 Sri Lanka national squad last year and this year. And he won the award for the best bowler at the Observer-Mobitel schoolboy cricketer of the year awards ceremony in 2011. He thanks a number of persons who helped him to reach this level, including his family members, Principal, Cricket master-in-charge, coach and academic staff.
