President signs condolence book

President Mahinda Rajapaksa placed his signature in the Condolence book at the Japanese Embassy in Colombo last morning.

The condolence book opened for the public to express their condolences to the Japanese people in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11, will be at the Embassy of Japan, No 20, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7, today and from March 21 to 23 from 9 am to 12.30 pm, and from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm, the Japanese Embassy in Colombo said.

The Embassy appreciates the goodwill of the public but notes that it is unable to accept donations in terms of goods towards the cause.

Financial donations towards the earthquake and tsunami affected people in Japan can be channeled through the Sri Lankan Red Cross Society or the Japan Red Cross Society to the bank accounts in the attachment.
