Cultural Affairs Ministry in final

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs Recreation Club with a resounding 33 run win over Peradeniya University Staff semi-final made their way to the final of the State Services Cricket Tournament. In the quarter final they defeated Central Bank by 168 runs.

C.W. Ranil contributed well for the winners with bat scoring half centuries in both games. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs will now meet Health Department Sports Club on Sept.20.

Quarter final beat Central Bank RC

Ministry of Cultural Affairs: 238 (C.W. Ranil 63, K.W. Asitha 56, D.M. Kamiz 46, P.K. Chathura 22, N.M. Alwis 5/46, M.Vithana 3/40).

Central Bank: 70 in 22.5 overs(G. Somadasa14, R.G. Kumara 16, M.W. Charith 4/21, P.K. Lasantha 3/10, C.W. Lakmal 3/20.

Semi-final beat Peradeniya University Staff

Ministry of Cultural Affairs: 211 in 40 overs (C.W. Ranil 69, D.M. Kamiz 39, M.W. Charith 19, K.W. Asitha 18, T. D. Ranasinghe 5/37, N. Sumanaratne 2/21.

Peradeniya Uni. Staff: 178 in 36.5 overs (Buddhika de Silva 32, S. Nimalgoda 23, N. Sumanaratne 23, K.W. Asitha 2/24, M.W. Charith 2/39).
