Former first woman Registrar of the Court of Appeal Maheshi
Jayasekera has been appointed as the Supreme Court registrar from June
1. Jayasekera an old girl of Anula Vidyalaya is the first woman
Registrar of the Supreme Court.
After her higher education at the Anula Vidyalaya, Jayasekera entered
Law College and passed out as an Attorney-at-Law and joined as the
Registrar of the Court of Appeal.
She is the daughter of P.S. Jayawardena and Ms. Jayawardena and
married to Chandana Jayasekera.
At a simple ceremony held on Friday at the Court of Appeal
Registrar’s Office, Jayasekera and her staff of the Court of Appeal
presented a Buddha Statue to Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva PC.
