Professor gets more security

Deputy Inspector General T. Anandarajah yesterday gave an undertaking to the Human Rights Commission that the number of security personnel attached to Prof. G.L. Peiris will be increased from six to 12.

Prof. Peiris lodged a complaint with the Commission on Monday over the reduction of his security following his withdrawal from the Government.

The case will come up for further hearing on October 23.
