Settlement likely in Sunday Times case

A settlement in the "Sunday Times" case where its Editor Sinha Ratnatunga was
found guilty for criminally defaming President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga,
appeared imminent with counsel for all parties agreeing to the compromise formula
suggested by Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva for terminating the case.
Power cut: No immediate reduction

The total storage of the hydro reservoirs rose to 215.3 GWh by yesterday with heavy
rainfall in the Laxapana complex catchment areas increasing the total storage capacity to
17.1 per cent, CEB sources told the Daily News yesterday.
