With the London-based War Risk Rating Committee (WRRC) of Lloyds declaring the whole of Sri Lanka as a "war zone", a decision which the Government and the local shipping industry has described as completely unjustified, Minister of Port Development and Southern Development Ronnie De Mel has initiated a major diplomatic effort to convince the international community that the Colombo Port does not face any such "war risk".
