Italy-bound illegal emigrants in Navy net by Jayantha Sri Nissanka Sri Lanka Navy patrol craft yesterday seized two long range fishing trawlers with an illicit emigrant cargo of 116 persons within Sri Lankan territorial waters. The emigrants were bound for Italy, the Navy suspects, Rear Admiral C. N. Thuduwewatte
told the Daily News. The trawlers were seized off Negombo and escorted to the Colombo
port. The boat, crew and cargo were handed to the Harbour Police.
